Docusign Instructions
If you are signing your returns via DocuSign, please review and sign them by clicking the “Review Document” link in the DocuSign email (see image below). This email will be sent separately from the SmartVault copy of your returns.

Please review and electronically sign the tax return authorization forms contained within the link. If you have any questions about your returns, it is best to address them with us before completing the DocuSign request.
For joint returns, both spouses must sign their separate DocuSign requests before the request expires, or the signatures will be void and must be redone.
The IRS requires identity authentication for certain tax forms.
• If you are signing your individual returns: when you click “Review Documents,” you’ll be directed to a secure third-party site (not SmartVault or Wehner Accounting & Tax, Inc. - should be similar to the below image) to answer verification questions, similar to a credit check.

• If you are signing your business returns: when you click “Review Documents,” you will be asked to provide a security code in order to review your forms. We will provide you with the code by text or email shortly after we send you the DocuSign request.
